Achaderry Estate is a great place to enjoy a wheelchair holiday in the Highlands if you are confined to getting around in a wheelchair. We appreciate that it is very difficult to find a place that says it is wheelchair friendly and then fails to come up with the goods. So you will find that everything we say and write about is absolutely true and can be substantiated.

Achaderry Farmhouse welcomes everyone and is setup to accommodate wheelchair users when needed The approach to the Farmhouse is paved allowing easy access to the front door that has (like all our doors) a low threshold.

Once indoors access is easy into the kitchen/diner and on into the bedroom or living room. Our ground floor bedroom has a double bed with a mobile Oxford midi hoist when needed.  A sliding door allows a chair to go into the en-suite bathroom. The 1.8meter wide shower base has a seat and grab rails to help one use the adapted shower. The toilet has a raised seat if needed and the basin is lowered. We can offer you a self propelled wheelchair or an assisted wheelchair into the shower.

A powered wheelchair is available along with a number of items to help you have a comfortable stay. Please phone 07795 104472 with your needs and if we can help we will.

The Hot Tub room is accessible but there is no lift into the Hot Tub.  The steps leading into the Hot Tub are 1.2 meters wide.

This is some comments left behind by a family who had a severely disabled daughter of 16 years old. The parents are both doctors and they had their two sons and the girl’s carer with them.

Fantastic holiday!!!  We would love to come back again next year!  (They have booked for next year). Excellent facilities and very comfortable. Tim and Wendy are very attentive hosts who made our holiday very special and memorable”.
